A Warm Thank You to the Milford Rotary Club: Keeping Our Kids Cozy

Here at the Club, our heating units have faithfully served us for nearly two decades, being the original systems installed when we moved into our home back in 2004. Over the years, they have bravely battled the New England winters, but as time passes, they have begun to show signs of wear and tear, struggling to keep our spaces warm.

This past winter, we experienced firsthand the consequences of aging heating units when one failed during the coldest week of the season. Our administrative wing, along with our dance room, plummeted to frigid temperatures, leaving our dancers donning hats during practice to keep warm. It was a stark reminder of the urgent need to replace these aging systems before more of our program spaces are affected, potentially putting even more children at risk of discomfort and cold-related health issues.

On behalf of the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley, we extend our deepest gratitude to the Milford Rotary Club for their generous contribution of $10,000 towards our heating unit replacement project. Their support is invaluable to us, and we cannot thank them enough for helping to ensure the comfort and safety of the children in our community.

Replacing all our heating units comes at a cost of nearly $50,000 and with the help of Milford Rotary Club and other awarded grants, we are on our way to reaching our goal.

So that we can ensure that all our program spaces are adequately heated, providing a warm and welcoming environment for the children who rely on us for mentorship, support, and a sense of community.

Thank you for your continued support of the Club, our Club Kids, and the Community.
