SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

This year, we are pleased to be able to offer two scholarships to students looking to pursue a college degree. Read more about each scholarship below, and contact us at info@svbgc.org with any questions or concerns! Completed forms can be returned to Mike Goodwin at the Boys & Girls Club.

About the Alene Candles Scholarship

  • $500 scholarship opportunity.
  • Deadline 5/20
  • Only active Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley members may apply.
  • Require minimum of 2 consecutive years of participation in the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley’s STEAM Club.
  • Based on motivation for a career in STEAM, academic and community achievements, and proven ability to accomplish goals.
  • Will be required to submit one essay.
  • Will need two recommendations, one from Boys & Girls Club staff and another from guidance counselor or teacher.
  • One-time scholarship of $500 will be paid directly to winner’s academic institution upon receipt of invoice/tuition statement.
  • Scholarship must be claimed/paid within 3 years of award.

About the Krantz Family Scholarship

  • $1,000 scholarship opportunity ($500 a year for two years).
  • Only active Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley members may apply.
  • Require minimum of 2 consecutive years of participation in the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley’s Keystone leadership Club.
  • Requires experience working or volunteering in academic programs, including but not limited to homework help, at the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley.
  • Based on motivation for a career in teaching, academic and community achievements, and proven ability to accomplish goals.
  • Will be required to submit one essay.
  • Will need two recommendations, one from Boys & Girls Club staff and another from guidance counselor or teacher.
  • Deadline: 5/20
  • Scholarship will be awarded at the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley Youth of the Year event. Applicant is not required to be nominated as a youth of the year in order to be considered.
  • 1st year scholarship award of $500 will be paid directly to winner’s academic institution upon receipt of invoice/tuition statement.
  • 2nd year scholarship award of $500 will be paid directly to the winner’s academic institution upon receipt of invoice/tuition statement and first year academic transcript.
  • Scholarship must be claimed/paid within 3 years of award.
